eMailBase supports both SendGrid SMTP and SendGrid API configuration methods to optimize email sending capabilities, allowing users to flexibly choose according to their specific needs:
SendGrid SMTP is an easily accessible option, suitable when advanced features or fast sending speeds are not required.
SendGrid API excels in security, features, and speed, making it ideal for modern platforms that demand high control and detailed analytics of email interactions.
Users can choose between SMTP or API depending on the nature and requirements of their email campaign to achieve maximum effectiveness.
Log in to your SendGrid account.
Go to Settings > API Keys.
Click Create API Key.
Name the API Key (e.g., "eMailBase Integration").
Grant Full Access for the API Key, then click Create & View to copy the API Key.
At the main interface of eMailBase, navigate to Sending > Sending Servers.
Click New Server and select SMTP Server.
API configuration allows eMailBase to connect directly to SendGrid’s service via API v3, providing high performance and optimal security.
Enter API Configuration Information:
In eMailBase, enter the API Key into the API Key field.
Provide a description for the configuration, e.g., “SendGrid API v3”.
Confirm and Save Configuration:
Click Save to complete the API configuration.
Perform a test email to ensure the configuration is correct.
After completing the basic configuration in eMailBase, you will need to perform additional setups related to sending identity to ensure emails are sent from verified addresses.
Guide to Setup Each Section:
Name: Provide an easily identifiable name for this configuration, e.g., “SendGrid API v3”. This name will only appear in eMailBase to help you manage multiple configurations.
Default FROM Email: Enter the default email address you want to display to the recipient (in the "FROM" field of the email). This address MUST belong to domains that have been verified in your SendGrid account.
Speed Limit: Set an email sending speed limit (measured by emails per minute) to avoid exceeding SendGrid account limits or overloading the system.
How to Verify Sending Identity in SendGrid Account
In SendGrid, only verified email addresses or domains can be used to send emails. This ensures that you own these addresses and prevents unauthorized email sending.
Verify Domain:
Log in to your SendGrid account and go to Settings > Sender Authentication.
Select Authenticate Your Domain and follow the instructions to add DNS records to your domain. This process helps verify domain ownership and usually takes a few hours to complete.
Verify Email (if you don’t want to verify the entire domain):
In Settings > Sender Authentication, select Verify a Single Sender.
Enter the necessary details such as name, email, and address.
SendGrid will send a verification email to the entered address. Open the email and click the verification link.
NOTE:
After domains or email addresses are verified, they will appear in eMailBase’s list, and you can choose them for use in your email campaigns.
