The SMTP feature in eMailBase allows you to send emails via any SMTP service, including Gmail and Hotmail. The SMTP configuration will enable you to easily send emails from your own email address through these popular email services.
Below is a detailed guide on how to set up SMTP to send emails via Gmail and Hotmail.
Gmail has a default security feature that prevents connections from less secure services. To use Gmail via SMTP, you need to enable the "Less Secure Apps" feature:
Go to the .
Select the "" section.
Scroll down and enable "Allow less secure apps".
Note:
Google has stopped supporting this feature for personal Gmail accounts since February 2021. Only use this for business Gmail accounts (@domain).
If you are using a personal Gmail account, you will need to enable "App Passwords" if you have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
NOTE! To create an app password, you must enable two-factor authentication (2FA)
If you have enabled two-factor authentication (2FA), you will need to create an App Password:
Enter any name for the app password and click "Generate".
Get the app password and use this password instead of your Gmail account password in the SMTP configuration section of eMailBase.
Google will provide you with the app password once, so be sure to save it outside of the platform.
Go to Settings > Sending Servers in eMailBase.
Select SMTP as the email sending server type.
3. Enter the following configuration details
SMTP Host: smtp.gmail.com
SMTP Port: 465 (SSL) or 587 (TLS)
SMTP Username: Your Gmail email address (e.g., example@gmail.com
)
SMTP Password: Use your Gmail account password or App Password if 2FA is enabled.
After entering the details, click "Save" to complete the SMTP server setup.
After saving, you can click Test Connection to verify if eMailBase successfully connects to the SMTP server.
If the connection is successful, you will see a confirmation message, and you can use it for your campaigns.
Quick Tip: Before sending an official campaign, send a test email to ensure the SMTP configuration works properly in eMailBase by using the "Send A Test Email" button.
Ensure the test email reaches the inbox and is not marked as spam.
Go to the "" page.
Don't forget, you can configure additional settings after saving the SMTP configuration and verify the sending identity by following the detailed guide .
